Time. I was thinking just about what a time travel saga looks like. The plot goes something like... Man has a messed up life. He messed it up because of bad choices. Man has no hope. He goes back in time to fix things. He fixes things. Everything is better. He decides not to make dumb choices now... (At least that is the plot of lots of movies/books/stories/etc.) Hmm...
How many times have you heard people at the end of their life sadly recount all of their mistakes and missed opportunities? For that matter, there are so many MY AGE who already accept that "life is just hard" (in a downer sense). Things "don't ever go your way" or "there is always a little bad with the good," or "there's really no such thing as a truly good marriage or sweet family." Why do we have to accept defeat before we have even begun to fight?
I believe that LIFE -- real, enjoyable, open, everyday, filled with joy, LIFE -- is there for ANYONE who will reach out everyday and embrace it. We have only one life. Is it filled with vision or shortsightedness? We can either be one of those who ends up looking back saying,"I regret..." or we can hear Jesus say,"Well done good and faithful servant." Our choice starts today. Which vision do you have for your life?
